Pope Benedict XVI appoints two new Auxiliary Bishops for the Archdiocese of Melbourne

His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI has appointed Reverend Father Timothy Costelloe, SDB and Reverend Monsignor Peter John Elliott as Auxiliary Bishops of the Archdiocese of Melbourne.
 
To Rev. Father Costelloe is assigned the Titular See of Cluain Iraird, and to Rev. Monsignor Elliot is assigned the Titular See of Manaccenser. The appointments will be made public in Rome on Monday 30th April 2007, at 12.00 noon, Rome time (at about 8.00 p.m. Australian Time).
 
Until now, Rev. Father Timothy Costelloe, Salesian, has been the Parish Priest of Clifton Hill (Archdiocese of Melbourne), Rector and Director of Formation at the Salesian House of Studies, Clifton Hill, and also Lecturer at the Catholic Theological College, Melbourne.
 
Rev. Msgr. Peter Elliott has been Parish Priest of Malvern East, Episcopal Vicar for Religious Education (Archdiocese of Melbourne), and the Director of John Paul II Institute for Marriage and the Family, Melbourne.
