Catholic Enquiry Centre (CEC) is the national office for faith promotion of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference. CEC was founded in 1959 to allow all people to come to a better knowledge of Christ and the Catholic Church in Australia.
Areas of Responsibility:
The CEC is responsible for:
- Providing clear information about the Catholic Faith for those who are searching for faith, primarily by providing 'enquirers' with information about the Catholic Faith in the form of a series of eighteen pamphlets (lessons).
- Assisting Catholics seeking a return to the practice of their faith, including listening and responding to questions about the teachings and practise of the Church.
- Communicating with people of other religious backgrounds, as well as promoting inter-religious understanding.
